Do you like taking bus? I have always enjoyed taking buses to-and-fro destinations in Oz. The fun of "buses" started ever since when I was a little girl whereby my Gran would take me and my little fat brother then (ha!) go "gai-gai'ing" on buses. Well, I guess I like taking buses in Oz because I get to have a time and space all for myself – to do some sketches, to be amused by the things happening in the bus and outside through the window of the bus, to catch-up on my readings (on the pretense of being busy-ily important.. ha!), to plan and ponder on certain issues, to listen to some of my favourite music, to enjoy the little rays of warmth (in winter) and mores… oh! most importantly, a good, quiet and long time to converse with God. Now, home, I still like taking buses but this time round, only certain time of the day and of course, doing the same still… Something to share on one of my bus rides.. There was once I was reading in the bus and realized at one stop, the bus stopped for a quite some time. I then lifted my eyes off my readings and saw a likely primary 1 or 2 boy. Boy had 1 foot on the step of the bus' front door, another foot on the ground of the bus stop. I was wondering what's wrong – did he drop something. But as I looked further, I saw Boy smiling and frantically waving at an old man who looked like a Grandpa. Grandpa was in checkered shirt and jeans! It dawned to me "wow! Grandpa has surely turned more hip these days!" But I thought something never change for a Grandpa at this moment – the panting wave-back signaling a "Wait-up, be careful! Grandpa is coming!", the loving and admiration look at his Grandson has stopped the bus for Grandson… As they board the bus with smiles, I could not help but reflected on the days whereby I took bus with my Gran. I was also like the Grandson – "I have grown up as I have successfully stopped the bus for my Gran! I know how to take a bus!" It has been ages since I last took a bus with my Gran… Gone were those bus-ing days. (Well, now I drive my sweet Gran around… however this is never the same anymore). Hmm... my reflections to you: to treasure your time you have with your Gran and Gram…
